Car Drift / Useful information

A considered way to buy

A good decision starts with a closer look. Use these questions to guide your next car purchase.

Start with everyday life

Think about your typical journeys, passengers, parking and running costs. Your budget should allow for insurance, vehicle tax, maintenance and fuel or charging as well as the purchase price.

Look beyond the mileage

Ask for the service history, MOT history and any available supporting documentation. Confirm the registration, specification and ownership information, and ask about known faults, repairs and wear.

Arrange a viewing

Contact us before travelling to check availability and agree a viewing. Take time to inspect the exterior, interior, tyres and controls. If you would like a test drive, ask what arrangements and documentation are required.

Make the terms clear

Before you pay a deposit or agree a purchase, confirm the total price, what is included, any applicable warranty, collection arrangements and the written terms. Ask about anything that is unclear.

Have a car to part-exchange?

Include its registration, mileage, condition and service history in your enquiry. Ask us whether part-exchange can be considered for your purchase; a valuation or acceptance is not guaranteed.

Considering finance?

Do not assume finance is included with a vehicle. Ask about available payment arrangements directly and independently check any lender, broker, eligibility criteria, costs and terms before applying.
